Doug Casey
Doug Casey, Chairman of Casey Research, LLC
Doug Casey, Chairman of Casey Research, LLC., is a highly respected author, publisher and professional speculator who literally wrote the book on profiting from periods of economic turmoil: his book "Crisis Investing" became the best-selling financial book in history, remaining #1 on the New York Times bestseller list for a then-record 29 weeks...
Then Doug broke the record with his next book, "Strategic Investing", by receiving the largest advance ever paid for a financial book.
He has appeared on hundreds of radio and TV shows, including Donahue, Letterman, Charlie Rose, NBC News, and CNN and has been featured in numerous periodicals including People, US, Time, Forbes, the Washington Post, and many others.
Widely recognized for his skills in identifying high-return opportunities in precious metals and energy, in May of 2005 he was featured in an article on gold in the New York Times Sunday Magazine and in June of 2005 was the sole guest in a feature on uranium on National Public Radio's popular Marketplace program.
For over 27 years, Doug has written a newsletter and alert service for sophisticated investors and has been in demand as a featured speaker by conferences around the world.
Through its subscription-supported publications and web sites, each month Casey Research, LLC. serves the information needs of hundreds of thousands of self-directed investors interested in natural resources.
Doug, who also authored the best-selling International Man, lives the life described in that book by dividing his time between ranches in Aspen, Colorado and Wellington, New Zealand.
In his quest for exceptional investments, he travels around the globe to kick the rocks on mine sites and evaluate countries for possible real estate speculations. In 2005 alone, he traveled to Argentina, Colombia, Bulgaria, Dubai... and even Syria (where, despite the risk, there are some very prospective oil and gas initiatives underway).

Dr. Ron Paul-

Please Click To Dontate

Congressman Ron Paul of Texas enjoys a national reputation as the premier advocate for liberty in politics today. Dr. Paul is the leading spokesman in Washington for limited constitutional government, low taxes, free markets, and a return to sound monetary policies based on commodity-backed currency. He is known among both his colleagues in Congress and his constituents for his consistent voting record in the House of Representatives: Dr. Paul never votes for legislation unless the proposed measure is expressly authorized by the Constitution. In the words of former Treasury Secretary William Simon, Dr. Paul is the "one exception to the Gang of 535" on Capitol Hill.

Ron Paul was born and raised in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. He graduated from Gettysburg College and the Duke University School of Medicine, before proudly serving as a flight surgeon in the U.S. Air Force during the 1960s. He and his wife Carol moved to Texas in 1968, where he began his medical practice in Brazoria County. As a specialist in obstetrics/gynecology, Dr. Paul has delivered more than 4,000 babies! He and Carol, who reside in Surfside Beach, Texas, are the proud parents of five children and have seventeen grandchildren.

While serving in Congress during the late 1970s and early 1980s, Dr. Paul's limited-government ideals were not popular in Washington. He served on the House Banking committee, where he was a strong advocate for sound monetary policy and an outspoken critic of the Federal Reserve's inflationary measures. He also was a key member of the Gold Commission, advocating a return to a gold standard for our currency. He was an unwavering advocate of pro-life and pro-family values. Dr. Paul consistently voted to lower or abolish federal taxes, spending, and regulation, and used his House seat to actively promote the return of government to its proper constitutional levels. In 1984, he voluntarily relinquished his House seat and returned to his medical practice.

Dr. Paul returned to Congress in 1997 to represent the 14th Congressional district of Texas. He serves on the House of Representatives Financial Services Committee, and the International Relations committee. On the Financial Services Committee, Rep. Paul serves as the vice-chairman of the Oversight and Investigations subcommittee. He continues to advocate a dramatic reduction in the size of the federal government and a return to constitutional principles.

Dr. Paul is the author of several books, including Challenge to Liberty; The Case for Gold; and A Republic, If You Can Keep It. He has been a distinguished counselor to the Ludwig von Mises Institute, and is widely quoted by scholars and writers in the fields of monetary policy, banking, and political economy. He has received many awards and honors during his career in Congress, from organizations such as the National Taxpayers Union, Citizens Against Government Waste, the Council for a Competitive Economy, Young Americans for Freedom, and countless others.

Dr. Paul's consistent voting record prompted one Congressman to comment that "Ron Paul personifies the Founding Fathers' ideal of the citizen-statesman. He makes it clear that his principles will never be compromised, and they never are." Another Congresswoman added that "There are few people in public life who, through thick and thin, rain or shine, stick to their principles. Ron Paul is one of those few."

The Gold & Silver Exchange-

Kal Gronvall-
About me; and the scams in the coin industry
By trade I am a high school and college English teacher, having taught a total of 11 years. After finishing my Master's degree in 1993 I tried to get back into teaching, but there was such an excess of teachers I couldn't find a job. So, in the fall of 1997 I took a job with the largest gold coin company in the country located in Minneapolis. I worked for that company until just after 2000 turned over. Then I left that company to work for another gold coin company in Burnsville, Minnesota. While working for these two coin companies for a total of six years I got a pretty good handle on the gold coin business, and to my shock, I witnessed some of the lowest, most despicable acts I had ever seen in my life, as other gold brokers around me would lie to customers, misrepresent coins and make false claims about them, promise people impossible monetary gains if they bought certain coins, and the management went right along with it.
I decided to go on the radio and expose these scams in the coin industry I ended up on national radio talk shows doing just that. The biggest problem with the gold coin industry is the fact that it is unregulated. It is basically “buyer beware.” Whatever they can get away with they get away with. In late 1998, a talk show host asked me why I was speaking out against the coins that all the other companies were recommending. I simply told him that these companies sell certain coins because they bring huge profits, not for the customer, but for the coin company. The talk show host told me that many people from the listening audience had asked if I had anything in writing about the scams in the coin industry. I told him that I didn't but that I could put some of these things in writing. I started with 11 pages, then it grew to 17, then to 21, then to 26. I will soon be updating my paper. After I update it I will publish it as a book. I am offering this paper free of charge to anyone who calls and requests it.

Nouriel Roubini-

Nouriel Roubini

ECONOMISTS disagree about most things; ranking economic websites is no exception. The Economist polled a sample of ten top economists and five humble journalists and came up with widely different answers. Still, there were some clear favourites. We selected the top five according to three criteria: usefulness of information, ease of use and appearance (see table).

Tops is Nouriel Roubini’s website. Anyone who wants to follow the debate about the global financial crisis should visit it regularly. Take Brazil, the latest victim of financial turmoil. The site points you for starters to breaking news, press reports, comment from eminent economists, Brazil’s IMF agreement and academic articles about policy issues such as the choice of exchange-rate regime.

*Discussion is pre-recorded.

-Zapata George Blake

Zapatageorge.com-

Zapata George - You might say that oil is in my blood. My father was a Geophysicist, and we moved around with a seismograph crew looking for oil since I was two years old. I went to 17 different public schools in 11 states before graduating from East Denver high school 1953. I graduated from the Colorado School of Mines – “the world's foremost school of mineral engineering” with advanced degrees in Geology in 57 and Engineering in 1961.

After leaving college, I worked off and on in the oil and gas industry. In the oil industry my biggest corporate job was Mid-Continent Exploration Manager for Champlin Petroleum, at that time a division of the Union Pacific Railroad and the 24th largest oil company in the world. In the non-biggies I served as President of both Rexwood Oil and Gas and Bolero Energy Corporation at points during my career.

During the “off” parts, I worked in the brokerage industry. I worked E.F. Hutton and Boettcher and Company, where I was one of the top 10 brokers nationwide. They excused me in 1986, “I think they called it mandatory retirement”... nearly everyone in the oil business got furloughed in 1986. Amoco let go 7000 geologists alone. That’s what happens when the price of oil falls from $40 a barrel to $8!

Since then I’ve been keeping busy in the areas of fund management, teaching and mentoring others; helping others to learn what I’ve learned and know what I know. I also wrote a book, articles and several newsletters. I'm frequently asked to speak for radio, web and video broadcasts due to a track record of helping funds perform in stressful times of skyrocketing oil and energy costs and uncertain economics.

I do love teaching and talking about these developments. The Chinese have a saying "You're blessed to live in interesting times." and the present certainly qualifies as interesting. I bring to the financial world an extensive knowledge of the geology of oil and minerals and the global oil business, as well as the psychology and historical context of today’s economic climate presented in an honest, factual, easy-to-understand approach… basically…”NO BULL.”
